AL J. Kroontje, B.Sc Engineering, Board Chairman

Al Kroontje serves a Chairman of the Board.  Mr. Kroontje is a Professional Engineer with 30 years of diversified experience in corporate start-ups and finance which has also included various corporate re-organizations, going public transactions and merger/acquisition activities. These have mostly been in the resource sector, including oil and gas exploration and production companies as well as oil and gas service companies or trusts as well as in mining, technology and biotechnology ventures. Mr Kroontje is also the Chairman and President of Kasten Energy Inc, a private oil and gas exploration and production company. Mr Kroontje also currently serves on the boards of Novus Energy Inc., PetroFrontier Corp., and Border Petroleum Ltd., each of which are publicly listed resource companies in various stages of development.

Mr. Kroontje holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.

Mike Crowder, B.Sc Computer Science, Chief Executive Officer

Mike Crowder serves as CEO.  Prior to becoming CEO of Cobalt Mr. Crowder held the position of Vice President of Cobalt's wholly owned subsidiary Cobalt Coal Corp Mining, Inc.  Prior to joing Cobalt Mr. Crowder was Chief Financial Officer of New Tech Mining, Inc.  Mr. Crowder has been full-time or part-time owner of five privately held companies and has vast experience in building successful companies.  Mr. Crowder is also a real estate investor and has owned consulting companies with international clients.

Mr. Crowder holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from East Tennessee State University.

Thomas Roberts, M.Sc Industrial Engineering, President of Cobalt Coal Corp Mining Inc.

Thomas Roberts is President of Cobalt Coal Corp Mining Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cobalt Coal Corp. Mr. Roberts has over 40 years experience as an underground coal miner and has started and managed more than 12 different underground mines. Mr. Roberts has also successfully leased, permitted and mined several properties as an independent business owner prior to joining Cobalt.   Mr. Roberts is responsible for overseeing the day to day physical operations of all mining activities.

Mr. Roberts has a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee and has honorably served in the United States Military as an Army Sergeant in the infantry.

Robert L. Gilles, C.A., Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Gilles has been the full-time or permanent part-time CFO of six public companies. Prior to this Mr. Gilles was a partner in regional public accounting firms in Alberta and Ontario and was employed by KPMG International for ten years. Mr. Gilles holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Business), from York University, and became a Chartered Accountant in September, 1977.

Michael O. Kehler, C.A., CFA Board Member

Mr. Kehler joined Tristone Capital in May of 2002 as COO. Prior to Tristone, Mr. Kehler has held various positions over a ten year period with a major international accounting firm culminating in the position of Senior Manager - Corporate Finance. Mr. Kehler holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and has the designations of Chartered Accountant, and Chartered Financial Analyst.
